Reporting to the Production Control Coordinator, this position will assist the team in ensuring product is getting planted and harvested in a timely manner and in good quality
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work with Production Control Coordinator and other team members to ensure daily tasks are being completed in a timely manner
- Ensure product is meeting quality standards (ie. Plants are free of pests, seed counts are good, plants are centered and not broken at time of planting or harvesting)
- Report any health and safety concerns to the Production Control Coordinator
- Problem solving in relation to equipment, missing product for orders or daily issues that may occur
- Abide by GAP protocols
- General set up and clean up duties
- Filling trays with pots and pots with soil
- Tagging sleeving, propping and labeling plants
- Boxing and wrapping plants for shipment
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Previous greenhouse experience, an asset
- Must wear steel toe shoes/boots
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, standing for extended periods of time, repetitive work
- Reliable, team player
- Communication – keep communication open and consistent with team members
- Organization/Maintain clean work environment – keep the working environment clean and organized
- Physical Labour – Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, lift materials, when required
